Bulgarian military binocular B 8x30 OMZ

No: NKP 280165

OMZ stands for Optical & Mechanical production Works, located in Sofia, Bulgaria, established in 1948, manufacturer and supplier of optical-mechanical precision products.

In 1945 the Soviets disassembled the Zeiss Jena plant and transferred machines and also selected engineers to the East as a part of their war time reparations. It is generally believed that the blueprints of many Zeiss Jena products were taken over without any major modifications, yielding quite a decent lot of optical products made in USSR. Most likely, it is a Zeiss Deltrentis clone as well and it may also be based on the same blueprints as the Soviet made clones. (by Holger Merlitz)

Made in the early 1980's, it has tight sitting rainguards.(picture 4) It's like new, never been used.
