Hensoldt is one of the leading optical companies and a member of the Carl Zeiss Group since 1928.
After the Second World War, Germany was again obliged to make war reparations. This binocular was manufactured by Hensoldt between 1945 - 1950 as a kind of war reparation to the French army.
It was mainly used in French Indochina and during the French war with Algeria.
It has a special feature. The reticle, which is on the right handside, can be adjusted both vertically or horizontally by turning a ring on the bottom of the right eyepiece( see picture 3)
