Call for civilian binoculars in 1942

It is an interesting commentary about how well regarded Zeiss optics were in the years leading up to World War II when the US Government published posters asking the public to donate their personal Zeiss, and Bausch and Lomb binoculars for the war effort. It is somewhat ironic that Zeiss optics were pressed into service against the very U-Boats that Zeiss supplied with binoculars and periscopes.
